The Desire to Walk Again (In sha Allah)

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Deep breath. Here I go....

Heart feeling heavy. Eyes swollen. Imaan needing a sudden recharge.

I have been in this hospital boot since February 10th, 2016. I pray daily for the day I can walk again. Oh how I took the "little" things for granted.

We all are tested by Allah (SWT). "Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tested?" [Quran: Surah Ankabut, Verse 2]

A swelling on my toe that was thought to be a spider bite was eventually diagnosed as cancer in January. Not just any cancer. Rare cancer - clear cell sarcoma. Cancer that crept up one fine day, unexpectedly on a healthy body. A cancer that would change me physically for the rest of my life. You see, the only way to get rid of this cancer was amputation. Amputation of two toes and part of foot. With not too much time to think, my husband by my side (Alhumdulillah) and constant prayers, we did Bismillah.

I do not write this to complain. I am very thankful to Allah (SWT). There have been so many blessings that He has bestowed upon me even during this difficult time. We all go through tests in this world. You know when you have those moments where you need to shed a tear (or two) to allow you to move forward...that's me right now in that moment.

Fingers tremble as I type. Not many family & friends know about this. I've never shared the depths of my heart. Am I ready to open up and share my life with the world?

To be continued....
