Is Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim an Incomplete Sentence?

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Mercifcul Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim This isn't a sentence. It's a fragment. Piece of a sentence. For example, "in the car" isn't a sentence. "There's a person in the car" is a sentence.⠀ ⠀ When you say Allah's name, that's not a sentence. When translators studied this, they thought: "Wow this is incomplete." They thought maybe it means, "I begin" with the name of Allah" even though "I begin" isn't there. So the question is: Why is it incomplete? ⠀ ⠀ This is the Wisdom of Allah (SWT). He taught us how to speak. He knows how to speak. We don't judge His speech by our standards. Allah gave us an incomplete sentence on purpose.⠀ ⠀ Because what YOU do next completes it. In the name of Allah (Bismillah)...I eat. In the name of Allah (Bismillah)...I wash my face. In the name of Allah (Bismillah)...I get in my car.⠀ ⠀ Everything you do is completing Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim. If you do anything without Bismillah, it's incomplete. This beautiful gift of Allah is waiting to complete everything you do. Lecture by Nouman Ali Khan
