Dr. Israr Ahmed was born in 1932 at Hisar (India). He graduated from King Edward Medical College (Lahore) in 1952 and received his Masters in Islamic Studies from The University of Karachi in 1965. He was deeply affected by the thoughts of Maulana Mahmood Hassan, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Maulana Abul Ala Mawdudi. He gave up his medical practice in 1971 to devote the best of his time and abilities in service and revival of Islam.
